A message from the College Principal
In 2008 our College included State in our name and so henceforth we will be known as Woodcrest State College. This symbolic renaming reaffirms our commitment to the delivery of education and training that provides opportunities for all students to reach their potential.
As a State College we also welcome enrolments of children and young people from all families who live within our Primary and Secondary enrolment catchments.
As Principal of a P - 12 College catering for the needs and aspirations of students across all the phases of learning I am committed to a whole-of-schooling approach that smoothly and successfully transitions students from one learning phase to the next all the while taking into account the rich diversity of our student population.
All of this is captured in the Woodcrest College Statement of Purpose where together “we seek to provide high quality education that makes a positive difference to the lives of our students."
I recognise that improvements in student learning depends on a range of factors none more important than the engagement of the learner. To that end I will continue to lead and support the continuing professional learning of teachers whose knowledge and expertise drives the effective delivery of curriculum.
Over the next three years my focus will be on improving student performance in literacy and numeracy as measured against national and state standards while continuing to foster learning environments that support and sustain creativity and imaginative experimentation.
