Senior Secondary Subjects
Year 11 and 12
Students in Year 11 and 12 have three options. Students will choose from the following subjects that run for a two year course.
1. Senior Physical Education
- General Syllabus subject
- Targeted for students who wish to go onto Tertiary study or work in the health field, sport field and teaching.
- Develops:
- Critical and Creative Thinking
- Communication
- Personal & Social Skills
- Collaboration & Teamwork
- All through the use of physical activity
- It is recommended that you have done Year 10 Physical Education and or have achieved a B in Year 10 General English to be able to be successful in Senior Physical Education due to the high demand of written elements.
2. Sport and Recreation- Applied Syllabus subject
- Targeted for students who love playing competitive and social sport
- Base for future education or employment in fitness, health, outdoor education and sport fields
- Practical focus rather than theory focus
3. Certificate III in Fitness - Please note this incurs an additional cost
- Rigours course delivered to students via online learning with teacher direction
- Combination of Theory and Practical components
- Students will be competent in a range of essential skills including:
- undertaking client health assessments
- planning and delivering fitness programs
- conducting group fitness sessions in indoor and outdoor fitness settings
- Students will also obtain a First Aid and CPR Certificate and Beginning Coach Certificate upon completion.
