​​Senior Secondary Subjects

Year 11 and 12

Students in Year 11 and 12 have three options. Students will choose from the following subjects that run for a two year course. 

1. Senior Physical Education

  • General Syllabus subject
  • Targeted for students who wish to go onto Tertiary study or work in the health field, sport field and teaching.
  • Develops:
    • Critical and Creative Thinking
    • Communication
    • Personal & Social Skills
    • Collaboration & Teamwork 
    • All through the use of physical activity
  • It is recommended that you have done Year 10 Physical Education and or have achieved a B in Year 10 General English to be able to be successful in Senior Physical Education due to the high demand of written elements.
2. Sport and Recreation
  • Applied Syllabus subject
  • Targeted for students who love playing competitive and social sport
  • Base for future education or employment in fitness, health, outdoor education and sport fields
  • Practical focus rather than theory focus
3. Certificate III in Fitness - Please note this incurs an additional cost
  • Rigours course delivered to students via online learning with teacher direction
  • Combination of Theory and Practical components
  • Students will be competent in a range of essential skills including:
    • undertaking client health assessments
    • planning and delivering fitness programs
    • conducting group fitness sessions in indoor and outdoor fitness settings
  • Students will also obtain a First Aid and CPR Certificate and Beginning Coach Certificate upon completion.
