At Woodcrest State College, we are committed to supporting regular attendance and maintaining accurate student records. Parents and carers are asked to follow the procedures below when notifying the College of student absences, late arrivals, or early departures.
Student Absences
Parents/carers must notify the College of all student absences by 8:45am on the day of absence.

Important: All absence notifications must come directly from a parent or legal guardian. Messages sent from a student’s device will not be accepted.
Late Arrivals
School begins at 8:50am. Students arriving between 8:50am and 9:00am may go directly to their roll class.
After 9:00am:
Parent/Carer approval of lateness may be provided by:
Submitting an attendance note via the Compass App, covering the expected arrival time and reason.
Calling (07) 3280 2460 with a short message including student’s full name, estimated arrival time, and reason.
Presenting to Campus Student Services with the student.
Providing a signed note for the student to hand in when signing in.
Early Departures (Planned Appointments)
If your child needs to leave school early, please follow one of the options below:
Option A (Student-Initiated):
Student presents to Campus Student Services before roll class (8:50am) with a note or communication from a parent/carer.
An early departure slip will be issued, which must be shown to the teacher at the departure time.
Student returns to Student Services to sign out.
Option B (Parent/Carer-Initiated):
Notify the College via:
Student collects early departure slip from Campus Student Services before school starts, and presents it to their teacher when leaving.
Student signs out through Campus Student Services.
Pick-Up Requirements:
All students departing early must report to Campus Student Services.
Students will be issued with an early departure slip, which must be kept with them until they leave the College grounds.
A parent/carer must attend Campus Student Services to collect the student.
Photo ID must be shown to confirm identity.
Note: If someone other than a parent/carer is collecting the student, they must be listed as an approved emergency contact. Otherwise, prior written consent will be required.
