We are ready to shoot hoops here at Woodcrest! Thanks to the successful application for a grant under the Queensland Government's School Subsidy Scheme (SSS) Infrastructure in 2021, our college was fortunate to receive funding of $451,579. This allowed us to embark on an exciting new project that will greatly benefit our students and the local community. With a total project cost of $500,000, we would also like to extend a special thanks to the Woodcrest State College P&C for their co-contribution to this endeavour.
The centrepiece of this project is the construction of new basketball courts. Our community will now enjoy a half and full court, complete with fully landscaped surroundings and tiered seating. The layout has been designed to provide an optimal environment for players to showcase their skills and for spectators to enjoy the game. The courts themselves boast a state-of-the-art playing surface, ensuring a top-notch sporting experience for all involved.
We at Woodcrest State College are thrilled about the opportunities these new basketball courts present. Not only will they enhance our school's sporting facilities, but they will also help to foster a greater sense of community engagement. This project truly exemplifies the college's commitment to promoting physical activity and encouraging participation in sports among students and residents alike.
