WHAT IS MOVEMBER?
Movember is the leading global charity dedicated to changing the face of men’s health. Their mission is to stop men from dying too young by addressing critical health issues such as mental health, suicide, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. On average, men die 4.5 years earlier than women, often due to preventable conditions. Together, we can make a difference.
5 health tips for men -
1. Stay Connected: Spend quality time with the people who uplift you. Your mates are crucial for your well-being. Check in and make time for one another.
2. Talk More: You don’t need to be a professional to lend an ear. Sometimes, just being there to listen can be lifesaving.
3. Know the Numbers: Be aware of your health risks and schedule regular check-ups. At 50, talk to your doctor about prostate cancer and potential testing.
4. Know Thy Nuts: Familiarize yourself with what’s normal for your body. Regular self-checks can help you notice any changes; consult a doctor if something doesn’t feel right.
5. Move More: Incorporate physical activity into your daily routine. Find joy in movement—take a walking meeting, park further away, take the stairs, or bike to work instead of driving.
