Woodcrest State College is committed to supporting students from non-English speaking backgrounds who are learning English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD).
In addition to learning assistance and Home Stay programs for International fee-paying students, we also provide personal and social support to enable EALD students to participate in all school activities. In exchange, these students bring rich cultural experiences to the school community.
EALD students are assisted with their classroom learning by the EALD teacher who works closely with subject teachers to support students within the classroom context or in individual and small group tutorials.
The comprehensive assistance Woodcrest College gives to our EALD students builds success in their mainstream classes and helps them to develop their potential.
